Melt down that old junk brood comb in this high quality solar wax melter! This melter will last for years and years in your bee yard and look great doing it.
Simply scrape off and place old wax or comb into the tray, and the sun does the work for you! The wax collects in a small metal tray below.

Tommy Wise First off, I love this wax melter. It works great, but could be even better. It makes the most yellow wax, in one melting, than I made last year with a two step process. That being said, here are 3 items that would fix a few things.
1) the rod that holds the upper pan needs a second hole on just one side to hold it in place.
2) the catch pan needs to be 1 inch wider than the upper pan. The wax misses the lower pan unless you align them perfectly.
3) include some instructions, even just a small sheet of paper.
At $185 I believe these could be accomplished at no additional cost.
Final word is get ya one and enjoy melting wax.

John Nice solar melter, only issue that I had was with the pan to catch wax, if it was a little wider would be allot better, other than that works well

James c Anderson I think this will work out fine . I wish it was wider to accommodate queen excluders. melting the wax off the excluders saves time would be a great addition. My home made does the job but not as pretty.
