Observation Hive

Overall, this is a very nice setup. I just wish the migratory lid also had latches on it to help hold it on in transporting a bees.

It came in as expected, when expected and needed. The children loved it. I'm so grateful and glad that I ordered this.

The quality of the build is fabulous. I am delighted with our purchase and am looking forward to using this tool in an attempt to teach customers at the Farmer's Market about bees!

Although I haven't used it yet, the quality of the observation hive is very good. It looks to be assembled well and there are no apparent escape routes for bees (which I have had in non-Hillco units. On top of the hive, I must say the service Hillco provides is second to none; they are my "go to" source for my apiary needs!

Interestingly, when I took this out to the apiary, I put some bees in it & put the hive in my car, put my smoker away, came back & my car was full of bees. I thought to myself, "Dang, they musta sold me an Observation Hive that leaks bees!". Turns out I'd left the front door to the hive open! LOL. As it turns out, the Observation Hive works flawlessly. There is even a board under the bottom screen board to catch debris, so you don't have to worry about leaving a mess on anyone's table. This is a great product and they gave me a price I couldn't pass up at the conference.
