Heated Uncapping Knife

I bought these items for my daughter for Christmas who just got into bee keeping friends of mine who bee hives recommended your company

Worked ok not as well as I had hoped. The knife actually has a bow to it so it would hit top and bottom of frame but would leave cappings in the middle. I’m running 10 frames so the bees didn’t draw them out fat. Maybe I’ll try 9 frames next year and see if that makes it easier to uncap

This knife gets hot, really hot, actually too hot. It gets hot enough to boil your honey on the frame and actually melt your wax immediately. HillCo should probably remove it from stock or add a thermostat.

My old pierce knife works well it maintains 220 to 240 degree range checked with meat thermometer. This knife fluctuates goes up to 380 then will drop to 220 before it turns back on and goes up to 380 again . Scorches honey so not ideal or more likely to get burned skin if you have a slip.
